Welcome to 2011! Training for Komei Juku has restarted for the year and we have ben enjoying the arrival of a late summer in Newcastle.
News is that the dates for this year's seminar in Townsvile are: first day of training - Monday 8th August ; last day of training Monday 15th August, 2011. Start saving and planning now! This year's seminar is intended to overlap withthe Townsville Multicultural Festival and so there will be an extra dimension for everyone to enjoy.
Training schedule is the same as last year: Saturday 1230pm - 2pm approximately; every second Saturday is naginata training. Tuesday evenings at 830pm. All training at Newcastle Aikikai, 7 Bennett St, Hamilton. See www.newcastleakikai.com for location details.
I have to empahsise the positive training community that exisits at Newcastle Akikai. Under the guidance of Senseis Darius and Gabrielle Wingate-Pearce and contributions from other senseis and senior students, there has been developed a great venue for learning and contributing to others in a supportive and dedicated environment. I feel that this dojo is a great example for others and it continues to learn how it can improve.
