2012 Townsville Komei Juku seminar

From 23rd to 26th of November some lucky people were able to train with school headmaster Sekiguchi Sensei, as we have in for the last few years running.

Although slightly shorter than the usual seminar, we trained with katana and naginata throughout each day and in particular practiced a large number of henka (variations) of basic techniques. At times we found our coordination and memories thoroughly tested as we moved from technique to technique.

All those who attended to seminar made consistent strong efforts to master the various techniques over the four days of training. The friendly atmosphere of training and get togethers afterwards was also very rewarding. Each seminar sees us meet new faces with a common interest, and this year was no exception.

There are some pictures from the seminar to be found at a link to the right, with more to be added as they become available. These include a copy of a local newspaper article featuring Sensei at the time of his visit to Townville this year.
